Useful information about Year 6

Books Please return your library books every Monday
Home learning Home learning can be found in the Google Classroom (access via HWB). This is set every week.
Clothing

Please make sure children come to school in warm waterproof coats and sensible shoes/ trainers as lots of our learning takes place outdoors!

Children will also being going outside for playtime in all weathers, and will have outdoor fitness on two afternoons each week.

Food and drink

Children need to bring in a bottle of water every day (no fizzy drinks)

The children have a fruit snack each day. This can be paid for via Parent Pay. 

Travelling to school

Children in Year 6 are allowed to walk home from school if you give permission.

Children may ride bikes to school and store them here - PLEASE make sure your child has a bicycle helmet to wear if they do choose to ride to school.

Mobile phonesChildren are not allowed mobile phones in school. If your child needs a phone because they walk home without a parent/carer they need to keep the phone in the Main Office during the school day.

Peace and Conflict

 

This term we will be working on building relationships and learning new class room routines.

Our Inquiry will be based on the central idea that learning lessons from past conflicts can help us to live together in harmony. We will be exploring:

 

1) What causes conflict?

2) What is the effect of conflict on people's lives?

3) What lessons can be learned from past conflicts?
